Brief

David studied medicine in the University of Galway and graduated in 2009. Specialising in orthopaedic surgery where he worked as a registrar for 3 years. To complement his clinical training, he completed a full-time research Masters of Surgery in CURAM, University of Galway. He has presented his original research at conferences in Brazil, Austria and numerous national conferences.

He has had his work published in both national and international journals. He has enthusiastically been involved in teaching in both an informal and formal role, including being the Orthopaedic and Radiology tutor for medical students in NUI Galway while completing a Diploma in Multidisciplinary Radiology. Having worked in both public and private healthcare systems he has great insight into patient and clinician needs along with the unmet clinical need. He completed the Bioinnovate program (needs lead innovation program, UoG) and went on to complete a diploma in medical device technologies and business. He is delighted to be part of the virtual hospital team and is looking forward to realising its potential for both patients and clinicians.
